Finske Baptism slipper 22. juli sitt nye album, V: The Devil’s Fire, en utgivelse med røttene godt plantet i finsk ortodoks black metal. De leverer både råskap og atmosfære i liberale doser, med episke melodier begravd under bandets illsinte uttrykk. Baptism ble dannet i 1998 av vokalist, gitarist og låtskriver Lord S, og i 2002 slapp de sitt debutalbum, The Beherial Midnight. Siden har de vært gjennom en rekke endringer, både i besetning og geografisk plassering, før de har kommet dit de er nå.
Lord S har følgende å si om det nye albumet: «You will probably not be surprised, if I see V: The Devil’s Fire as a very strong return and as the definitely best album in my long career. I will not apologise for stating the obvious, but whether you agree or not, there are many riffs in classical Baptism style as well as many new elements.
